The seeds of Wild & Sand Travels were sown by Calvin Msaki, a 26-year-old visionary with a deep connection to Tanzania's diverse landscapes, rich culture, and abundant wildlife. As a wildlife photographer and tour operator, Calvin spent seven years exploring Tanzania’s pristine wilderness, capturing its essence through the lens. His passion for the natural world and his commitment to sharing it with others formed the foundation of Wild & Sand Travels.
Before Wild & Sand Travels became a standalone entity, Calvin gained invaluable experience working with various tourism companies in Tanzania for 8 years. During this time, he honed his skills in organizing safaris, building client relationships, and curating unique travel experiences. These formative years were instrumental in shaping his vision for an independent venture that would push the boundaries of personalized travel.
In July 2024, Calvin took a bold step toward independence by founding Wild & Sand Travels. Designed to operate autonomously, the company provides a fresh perspective on tourism and wildlife photography while upholding the high standards Calvin cultivated during his time at Mashirima Tours.
